Updated: Sep 3

Town of Deep River Community Pickleball Program

The Deep River Community Pickleball program is provided thanks to funding from the Ontario Government and the Ontario Community Grant Program. Deep River Pickleball and Baila Studio are pleased to help organize, host and run this program.

Goals of the Deep River Community Pickleball Program

The goals of the Government of Ontario Community Grant Program are quality of life through activity, independence, and participation.

Pickleball is an ideal fit for the Program as it is fun, active, engaging, and social. It is one of the world’s fastest growing sports at all age levels.

Come and play! Come and try it!

How the Deep River Community Pickleball Program Works

1.   Funding is provided by the Government of Ontario Community Grant Program.

2.   Anyone 55+ is welcome to participate regardless of pickleball experience.

3.   The Program begins in September and runs through the end of March or for as long as funding lasts.

4.   Location of the Winter Pickleball Program is Baila Studio, 91 Deep River Road in downtown Deep River (opposite end of the plaza from the Valu Mart, downstairs). Baila has two full size pickleball courts.

5.   Registration is required to participate. Go to DeepRiverPickleball.ca or email Ky.Crocker1@gmail.com or call Ky at 416-994-6552 in Deep River.

6.    All registrants will be eligible for two free lessons/clinics, ten free open play hours and two free special events. When attending a lesson, event or open play session please sign-in using the sign-in sheet provided at the Studio. This sheet will help everyone track their program usage.

7. All registrants must sign a waiver. This will emailed to you upon registration. You can bring it with you to the Studio.

8.   Lessons and events will be announced in advance through DeepRiverPickleball.ca and other media. Sign-up for each is required as attendance is limited to eight people/session. Go to the DeepRiverPickleball.ca Events page to sign up. The first Introduction to Pickleball lesson is September 16.

9.   Open Play begins Tuesday October 1. Open Play sessions will be Tuesdays from 11am to 1pm and Thursdays from 1pm to 3pm. Just show up and sign-in. No advance sign-up for Open Play is required.

10.   The Winter Pickleball Program has been tailored to match the funding available. There is a limit to the funding and the planned program may be adjusted or even curtailed if usage is significantly different from what is anticipated.

11. Any other questions email Ky Crocker at Ky.Crocker1@gmail.com or call her in Deep River at 416-994-6552.
